1. Beginner/Casual

This division is for the players who are new to pickleball, those who have played but are still learning/mastering the basic skills, and those who want to play in a more relaxed/casual environment.  This division is open to everyone: individuals, friends, or family groups (parents and children 7th grade and above, couples, etc. who want to play together).  Teams will be mixed doubles, as follows:

  • Individuals may register and will be assigned to a team of 2 (or 3, upon request).
  • Teams of 2 may register together (and can register a third player, if they choose, to allow for coverage in case of absences).
  • Teams (Mixed, Per Below):
    • Man and Woman (Husband and wife, Friends, etc., as adult pairings must be mixed gender)
    • Parent and Child (Can be same gender)
    • College Student and Parent (Can be same gender)
    • College Student and Younger Sibling (Can be same gender)
    • Questions?  Please ask.

This division is open to everyone: individuals, friends, or family groups (parents and children 7th grade and above, couples, etc. who want to play together). Teams will be mixed doubles, as follows:

2025 In The Big Inning Softball

(Grades 7-Adult)

Registration:

  • Individuals, couples, families and friends may register and will be assigned to teams together, upon request.
  • Individuals can simply sign up and be randomly assigned to teams, no friend connections or requests are necessary. In fact, we need the individual players to enable us to create teams of 10 or 11.
  • Registration cost is $75 per player, which includes a personalized jersey t-shirt, 6 regular season games, and a tournament.
  • Registration deadline is June 9, 2025.

League Format:

  • Recreational-competitive.
  • Open to all skill levels/experience levels.
  • 7-week season, Monday evenings only.
  • Games only (no practices); approximately one hour 15 minutes each week.
  • Game slot times will vary from week to week (5:30pm, 6:45pm).
  • Season-ending tournament
  • All games will be played at Immanuel Church.
  • Players will use mitts and will need to bring their own (not provided).
  • We have found a unique 12-inch softball, which has the softer consistency of a broken-in Chicago-style "mushball". We believe this makes the game safer for the wider array of ages participating while still allowing batters to solidly hit the ball.
  • Adults (18 and older) will be allowed to pitch.
  • Teams will be co-ed.
  • Teams will field a 10-player lineup (standard 9 positions and a short-center fielder) and all ten will bat.
  • Wood bats ONLY (players may bring their own wood bats, but league bats will be available for everyone's use).

 League Schedule (Mondays)

  • June 16 – League Play Games
  • June 23 – League Play Games
  • June 30 – League Play Games
  • July 7 – League Play Games
